Top, at rest, out
of the Donington
Collection. Left,
in the hands of Jacky Ickx, taming the 3 litre flat 12
engine.
The Ferrari
312B, a Grand Prix from 1971. 312's was raced by Regazzoni,
Ickx & Andretti. With only 460 bhp, revving to a mere
11450 rpm and no down force to speak of, now not even
a match for a current F3000. At
the time I could not believe my luck, the sound from the
flat 12 is strongest memory, coupled with how small the
cockpit is. Peddle
area was realy cramped. With fuel tanks either side &
still on the original tyres, not to mention it's value,
I made sure I drove well within my own capabilities. Awesome!
